Frequently Asked Questions

Are there people that you cannot work with?

If a client is under the current, direct care of a medical doctor, for a diagnosed disease or medical condition, in which nutrition intervention has been as the treatment, I will not work with that client.

I am not a licensed doctor, physician, medical doctor, dietitian, licensed dietitian, registered dietitian, nutritionist, licensed nutritionist, nutrition counselor, or licensed nutrition counselor, or use any word, letter, symbol, or insignia indicating or implying that I am dietitian, nutritionist, or nutrition counselor.

Do you recommend supplements?

I explore supplements with my clients and let them choose what is best for them.

What about laboratory testing?

"Ordering" laboratory testing is out of scope for FNTPs and NTPs. However, with Evexia's Internal Physicians’ Network process, an FNTPs and an NTP  can suggest functional testing for your clients to order for themselves.  Clients pay for the testing directly via EvexiaDirect, which allows them to order functional lab testing at discounted prices. As the practitioner, we can send a client a link to order the labs they are interested in via EvexiaDirect.

With Evexia’s Internal Physicians' Network, qualified physicians allow access to lab ordering for non-licensed practitioners or those whose credentials don't typically bestow lab ordering privileges. Their credentialed physicians review and approve the orders in real time so that these practitioners can enjoy the same access as their licensed colleagues.

With EvexiaDirect, clients can order functional lab testing via Evexia Internal Physicians' Network. An Evexia physician will review and approve the order for your client and provide them with a lab requisition. The lab requisition can be used at any LabCorp location in the US. Once the lab results are ready, a client will receive a copy of the results along with the FNTP or NTP.

New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island have laws that forbid direct-to-consumer lab testing. All other US states allow direct-to-consumer testing.

As an FNTP/NTP, we are not trained to provide medical nutrition therapy. An FNTP/NTP may not diagnose, treat, prevent, prescribe, or cure any pathological condition, illness, or disease. No recommendation or comment should be construed as medical advice or a diagnosis. As an FNTP/NTP, we never use the terms order or prescribing when discussing lab testing. When we educate our client on their functional lab test, we cannot use the results to diagnose conditions, illnesses, or diseases or create a treatment plan.

As an FNTP/NTP, we are not trained to interpret lab results and we never use the terms "interpret" or "analyze" when speaking to clients about lab testing. We can educate, inform, support, and guide clients with their functional lab results to optimize their health. We are trained to recommend dietary changes, lifestyle choices, and nutritional supplementation, and functional lab results is one of the functional tools, with advanced training, in which we can utilize to help create recommendations.
